In starting this blog, I have a few people to thank, alive, dead and otherwise. First of all, I would like to thank my friend Rob Craig, for giving me the tools to start this. And to my friend Leslie Scurto Ritz for encouraging me to write this. And for all those other friends who know of my talent and penchant and love of words and the facts that I begin this journey. I am currently 51 years old and living in Sterling Heights, Michigan. I have cerebral palsy, a birth defect that affects motor skills and cognitive functions. I have a brother and a sister, both younger. I have two nieces and a nephew and several cousins along with many friends and admirers all over the world.
I hope to use my talent for humor, information, enlightenment and debate. I do not shy away from a good argument nor do i back down from what I believe is right. I am a bit of a cynic, “Scratch a cynic, find a disappointed idealist,” the late, great George Carlin once observed, and I look at things from that standpoint. I am also a huge fan of sports and movies, as many of you know. I compete and represent my country for US Paralympics in Table Tennis and will be going to Lasko, Slovenia in May for a tournament. Stay tuned for that.
I enjoy my life, but I have unique challenges. Some may sound familar, others won’t. We are all in this journey together and share this small planet. I look forward to people reading this and the feedback from it. Let the trip begin.
